Description / Application
Most versatile, widely used preservative for personal care formulations. It acts by lowering the cell membrane activity of microorganisms thereby stopping the microbial proliferation. It has a broad, balanced spectrum of activity against bacteria, yeasts, mould and fungi. The effecive pH is 3.0 – 8.5 and maximum process temperature is 80°C. The EU cosmetic regulation limit is 1.11% maximum.
